Mark's Month of Madness

Mark recently completed a Month (well slightly longer) of Madness, running a race every 2 weeks culminating in Hellrunner, a half marathon with loads of mud and water (and a bit where you had to swim!). The very last race added afterwards was a 5km race which he completed with Courtney on Davey's birthday, 22nd October. It was quite poignant for two of Davey's siblings to be running for him, on his birthday.

We raised a total of £130 through Mark's sponsorship so a huge thank you to everyone that donated!

Coast 2 Coast 2016

We set off at 6am for Workington, heading up the M6 hoping for good weather over the weekend.

Of the five 'stolen' bikes that Merseyside Police had given to us, we managed to salvage two that might be worthy of the 145 miles ahead. The stolen bikes along with the rest of the gear (which included a few tents and a BBQ) were loaded onto the support van, kindly donated for the weekend by Frankie's employer Window Repair Company. It was tight squeeze with all the cycles and equipment but we made it work. We planned for 8 or 9 cyclists (depending on age and injury) and had 10 bikes in total, including the 2 stolen ones.

We arrived into Workington at around 9am and the fact that at first we struggled to find the starting point, kind of set the trend for the rest of the trip. We eventually parked at the C2C point and began to get ready for the journey ahead. The weather was looking pretty nice and fortunately it stayed that way for the rest of the day.

It's been a few weeks since the Coast 2 Coast and we are busy getting all the photos and videos together for a full report. In the meantime we'd like to say thanks once again for all your donations (we'll publish the total at the end of April) which will go towards this year's Memorial Match & funday, on Saturday 2nd July.

Coast To Coast (on stolen bikes)

As you know we do a fundraiser every year. This year we (including the one's nearing 60) will be cycling coast to coast across England, starting on Friday 25th March.

We will be going from Workington to Tynemouth....The twist is that we will be doing the ride on stolen bikes! The police have a number of recovered but unclaimed bicycles and have agreed to let us take some for the ride, then donate them to charity afterwards.

We'd also like to thank SHIPS of Newton le Willows for their donation which helped us print the posters.

Sun shines for Memorial Match 2017 The annual memorial match and funday was held on 8th July and the sun was shining through! We feared that there may be a repeat of 2016 when the funday was cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather, but the weather turned from the forecasted cloud and was sunny all day. View some photos from the day. During the evening The K's entertained an emphatic crowd who cried out for more. It was an awesome end to a very brilliant and emotional day. 'Dream Team' manager Bernard Court received a special thank you from us on night (pictured).…
